Let’s Support you in this Journey

How do we provide Parental Support?

Are you a parent of a teen with mental health challenges and feel lost trying to navigate their mental health journey? Or are you a parent with a neurodivergent child presenting with unwanted behaviors that you struggle to manage; hypersensitivity that can lead to overreactions, big emotional outburst and low frustration tolerance? We can help.

Parenting is hard, and even harder when your child presents you with behaviors that you don’t understand or find challenging to manage. You deserve just as much support as your child does.

Parental Support sessions are dedicated to working with you one-on-one to provide you with education and teach you specific strategies to use at home to manage unwanted behaviors. Parenting children with complicated behaviors can impact self esteem and therefore we also help to build your confidence in parenting so you can feel empowered in highly stressful situations with your child.

We are rooted in attachment theory, meaning we want parents to remain emotionally connected to their child even through the toughest moments.

topics that can be addressed in your sessions:

Identifying your child’s challenging behaviors and explore antecedents/consequences of the behavior to understand its origin

Providing you with psycho-education on developmentally appropriate behaviors related to your child’s state of development, temperament

Teaching coping strategies to reduce parent reactivity toward unwanted behaviors

Finding a balance to validate your child’s emotions yet set boundaries and limits when appropriate

If you feel like parenting support is the right fit for you, schedule your first consultation today. Seeking support for yourself as a parent is the best form of self care.
